Crichton Award celebration

It's with great excitement that I announce - I was fortunate enough to jointly win the 2010 Crichton Award for new Australian illustrators. The award dinner was held yesterday at Customs House in Brisbane and I am honored to share this award with Andrew Joyner. It was an absolute privelage to be amoungst the countries best illustrators and children's book authors and also to get a chance to meet with the top publishing houses.
What a great day it was indeed. And I hope this is the start of great things to come :)

finders keepers brisbane

Finders keepers has been and gone, and it was one of the most rewarding things that I have been part of to date. A huge thanks to everyone that popped by to say hi and offer words of encouragement. The most rewarding part was watching the faces roll past and smile while viewing some of my pieces.
The FK team are great! Thank you guys for helping me. And Simon thanks for the tunes and the chats.

Lost And Found by Oliver Jeffers/Studio AKA

Such an amazing short film. It goes without saying, Oliver Jeffers is a legend and also a very humble guy. He took the time out about a year ago to pass on some valuable advice to me. You can buy his short from amazon.co.uk

a view from my desk

This is where I spend many hours late at night working on my latest pics. As you can see I have some good company and the feeling of NY is never far away.
My apartment is surrounded by trees and in a quiet spot near Newfarm park. A perfect escape from the city beeps - for me to do what I love.

Stay tuned for more work and some of my inspirations to follow...
